Our Story
Handy Farms History
Clayton Handy’s passion for organic, wholesome, and healthy eating was sparked by a deeply personal experience—his battle with eczema. At one point, his skin barrier became so compromised that he contracted a bacterial infection that can be fatal for some. After months of antibiotics, steroids, and countless doctor visits, Clayton discovered that the only long-term solution was nourishing his body through proper, individualized nutrition.
This transformative experience shaped Clayton’s approach to farming. Today, he and his team are dedicated to providing the highest-quality nutrition for the animals and plants they cultivate. Much like his own health journey, Clayton has learned that when organic chickens and black walnuts are given an optimal nutritional environment, they thrive—without the use of pesticides or herbicides.
Clayton’s commitment extends far beyond the farm. He is now at the forefront of regenerative farming, exploring innovative practices while pursuing graduate studies at Chico State University. His work reflects a deep belief in the power of nutrition, sustainability, and creating harmony between humans, animals, and the land.
