Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¼ cup organic honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground allspice (optional)
  • Pinch of salt
  • ½ cup toasted organic pecans
  • Extra honey and chopped pecans for topping

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread the pecans in a thin layer on a baking sheet and toast for about 5-7 minutes, or until lightly golden. After they’ve cooled completely, chop the pecans. You can leave them as larger chunks or mince them finer, or have a mix of both! It just depends on your preference.

  2. Using a hand mixer, blend the softened butter, honey, vanilla, cinnamon, and allspice until smooth.

   3. Stir the toasted pecans into the butter mixture.

   4. Serve with freshly sliced bread, fruit, crackers, or anything else you love to dip with! The butter tastes delicious both at room temperature or warmed slightly.

Notes:

  • Using local honey is the best option! It adds a natural sweetness and supports local beekeepers. Local honey also has subtle, unique flavors from the local flowers that will complement the spices and pecans in the recipe.
  • If you prefer a smoother butter, you can blend the final product in a food processor.
  • Leftovers stay good for up to a week when stored in the fridge.
