Certified Organic Farm & Family History

Certified Organic Farms_Clayton Handy
My name is Clayton Handy. I grew up in a small town in Idaho. It’s been quite a few generations since there were farmers in my family. However, we’ve been avid gardeners for generations. I grew to love gardening with my mother. From pulling weeds to catching caterpillars and roly-poly bugs, to digging red potatoes and helping mom clean the potatoes so she could roast them in the oven. In my mind, it’s hard to beat freshly roasted or boiled red potatoes from the garden along with fresh carrots.

While going to school, I met a beautiful California girl Jenna. We quickly fell in love and got married. After my schooling and her schooling, we eventually ended up in her home – Northern California. With the help of family and our life savings, we purchased a small 30 acre plot of grazed land. I had been working in the conventional agriculture arena, but deep in my soul, I wanted to do things differently.

Along my road, I had studied per culture, biodynamic, farming, natural farming, and regenerative agriculture. I was passionate about this, even obsessive. At the same time, I was struggling with a few auto immune diseases, as well as one of our sons. Through diet and lifestyle changes, I was able to all but cure these debilitating diseases, and our son is well on his way to also becoming completely healed. It all stemmed from biology and our gut Microbiome. We ate nutrient dense foods free from all chemical residue along with many other cleanses and remedies to help heal our bodies in our gut Microbiome.

I found it hard to find food I could trust. And have made it. One of my life goals is to provide an answer for those looking for food and farmers they can trust. I started with my farm. It’s not seen a drop of any synthetic fertilizers or chemistries. I do regenerative practices such as adaptive grazing, diverse cover cropping, microbial inoculations true compost, and compost tea. I test my soil and every year; it gets better and better. Higher populations and diversity of microbes and higher organic matter.

It brings me joy that I can provide nutrient dense, chemical free, natural, organic, beautiful red walnuts to people who value this type of food grown in this way. I am now teaming up with other small family Farms that value this way of life and grow their food this way. If I find them, I offer some of their goods on our website and tell their story so that you know where your food is coming from.

We will continue to provide regeneratively grown organic nutrient dense food that People can trust. Food that I give to my own wife and kids for continued health and healing from such a toxic world we live in. There is hope, and we are happy to be part of the change that is so desperately needed. May we all continue to be seekers of light and joy and abundant living. God bless.
