Recently, we’ve had requests at Handy Farms for Green Walnut Hulls or Walnut Skin with a wet walnut in them. This is a layer that surrounds the Walnut Shell. The Hull and the Shell protect the Walnuts. By the time the walnuts are ready, the hulls are dry. This order includes the organic walnuts in their shells. Then it includes the walnut skin or walnut hull that surrounds that.

These shelled organic walnuts are the most popular organic walnuts in the market. They are often referred to as English walnuts or Chandler walnuts. These walnuts are grown by our neighbor who is also a regenerative organic certified small family orchard. We collect these nuts, store, and ship them from Handy Farms.

About The Farm:
Handy Farms is owned and operated by the property’s only residents: The Handy Family. Clayton Handy had a dream to create a fully sustainable farm. He dreamed of having his food products free from pesticides, and herbicides, and as nutritionally dense as possible. The result is an agricultural system that preserves the health of the farmer, consumer, and mother nature.
All products at Handy Farms are grown using a regenerative agriculture system. This means the diverse plant and fungal ecology is planned in such a way that the crop's nutritional needs are met by this underground network. As a result of the dense understory soil organic matter is also building. This improves the soil’s water-holding capacity and pulls carbon from the atmosphere into the soil where it acts as a vital building component in plant growth. How is that for reducing carbon footprint?
The dream would be incomplete if it weren’t for the children’s laughter as they play throughout the orchard and dense vegetation beneath. The vision of Handy Farms includes Family, Nutrition, and Earth. It is truly a labor of love.

We love Handy walnuts, they are so flavorful and fresh is the key. I have bought other organic raw walnuts and they always start out good but in a couple of orders the bitter nuts creep into the bag and not so with Handy Farms! Feels really good to support honest farmers like Clayton!
